Xóchitl Guadalupe Cruz, una niña mexicana de 10 años creó un calentador solar con implementos de bajo costo, para ayudar a las personas de bajos recursos de su comunidad, por lo que se ganó el ‘Reconocimiento ICN a la mujer’, concedido por el Instituto de Ciencia Nucleares de la UNAM.
Los científicos quedaron impactados por la genialidad de la niña quien con una inversión de alrededor de 15 dólares en materiales reciclados logró un aparato funcional y útil para quienes puedan necesitarlo, según Telemundo del 17 de marzo.
El artefacto consiste en una caja con dos puertas de cristal, mangueras de entrada y de salida que conectan con los recipientes interiores por los que circula el agua, y el exterior: todo es pintado de color negro para captar la mayor radiación solar posible.
La pequeña empezó con la idea desde que estudiaba en el jardín de infantes, y siempre cuenta con su familia que le apoya decididamente en el proyecto al que llama “baño calientito para todos”.

En las especificaciones técnicas declara que su invento calienta 65 litros de agua por día.
Luego de varios prototipos el calentador ya está listo para ser replicado y salir al mercado, con la particularidad de que busca registrarlo con patente libre para evitar que otras personas se lucren del producto de su genialidad.
