El concepto de virtud hace referencia a una cualidad positiva que permite producir ciertos efectos., y los estudiosos las definen como virtudes intelectuales y morales. Es decir, cuando una persona puede reflexionar y actuar bien con base a los principios de Verdad, benevolencia y tolerancia, es seguro que su vida gozará de buena salud y bienestar, esto es precisamente desarrollar la virtud.
Una persona respetada es aquella que conserva su virtud, y no desea lo que no le pertenece. Quien es codicioso finalmente perderá lo que tiene, porque la codicia y la búsqueda no traen bendiciones. El que viola la ley y acepta sobornos perderá sus bendiciones. Sin embargo, si uno cultiva la virtud, entonces aquello que quiere vendrá naturalmente, porque la virtud posee poderosa sabiduría y se puede transformar en bendiciones.
Un antiguo texto chino de la dinastía Han, decía en su Volumen 41, “Una persona de bien preserva lo que tiene, y no persigue lo que no tiene. Si uno persigue lo que no tiene, entonces lo que uno tiene desaparecerá. Si uno cultiva lo que uno tiene, entonces lo que uno quiere aparecerá de manera natural”.
Los sabios de la antigüedad decían que cuando uno hace algo bueno, el universo lo recompensa y que cuando se hacen maldades, el universo lo castiga, y esto lo estamos viendo todos los días porque hoy en día se ha olvidado dedicarse con interés a desarrollar la virtud, y las consecuencias para el ser humano han sido las enfermedad y crisis social.
