Algunos niños han desarrollado miopía por causa de los videojuegos. A muchos adultos les surgieron problemas de vista e insomnio.
Jugar videojuegos puede tener consecuencias psicológicas adversas. Este tipo de adicción puede fácilmente producir desórdenes psicológicos. Cuando están enfocados en sus juegos, no están presentes cuando están en el ámbito familiar. Para los niños, es similar al autismo, suelen ser reacios al interactuar con sus padres. Los adultos pueden ignorar sus responsabilidades familiares. Peor aún, algunas personas gastan mucho dinero en juegos virtuales.
Los videojuegos promueven la violencia y la inmoralidad. Los padres quieren enseñar a sus hijos la diferencia entre el bien y el mal para que puedan convertirse en personas honradas. Pero cuando los niños son adictos a los videojuegos, los resultados podrían ser opuestos. Usualmente los juegos de hoy en día, tienen monstruos o personas violentas y pueden ser una mala influencia para el desarrollo de los jóvenes.
La cultura tradicional promueve la parte positiva de la humanidad, como la protección a la naturaleza y tratar a las personas con respeto. Los videojuegos estimulan a la gente a ser violenta, a destruir o matar a los demás. Esto está en contra de la cultura tradicional y la humanidad.
