Por una u otra razón, uno puede en un determinado momento ingerir algunos alimentos que pueden producir adición rápida en los dientes. El sarro, también llamado tártaro o cálculo dental, es el endurecimiento de la placa bacteriana, que se presenta como coloración amarillenta o un poco más oscura. Por lo general, esto ocasiona que los dientes tengan un aspecto poco atractivo, y más allá de ser un problema estético, puede conllevar a la aparición de otros problemas de salud.
Es también cierto que algunos vicios como el tabaco, el alcohol, incluso el consumo excesivo de café y chocolates, pueden promover la aparición del sarro, por lo tanto, una buena higiene dental y el consumo de ciertos alimentos, como la manzana, el tomate y las fresas, pueden ayudar a prevenir la aparición de sarro en los dientes.
Algunas recomendaciones para mantener el sarro a raya es utilizar el bicarbonato de sodio con limón de la siguiente manera, de acuerdo como lo recomienda Yamila Papa, en la revsta “Mejor Salud:
Ingredientes
- Cucharada de bicarbonato de sodio (10 g).
- Cucharadita de sal (5 g).
- Agua (cantidad necesaria).
Preparación: En un recipiente mezcla el bicarbonato y la sal, moja el cepillo de dientes en agua tibia, introduce el cepillo de dientes en la mezcla de bicarbonato y sal para impregnarlo.
Cepilla como de costumbre, pero trata de centrarte en las zonas donde tiende a acumularse mayor cantidad de sarro.
Repite, al menos, 2 veces al día (mañana y noche) para obtener resultados.
La manzana, el melón y las fresas son tres alternativas perfectas para tener las encías sanas, evitar la acumulación de alimentos y prevenir el sangrado que aparece con el cepillado. Cabe destacar que la manzana debe comerse con su cáscara para conseguir el efecto deseado. Tanto las fresas como los tomates se pueden aprovechar simplemente cortándolos en rodajas y frotarlos de forma directa sobre los dientes antes de cada comida.
Otra forma casera de combatir el sarro consiste en frotar la parte interna de la cáscara de ciertas frutas (naranja y plátano) contra los dientes durante unos 2- 3 minutos antes y después de comer. Así que, ya sabes, ¡No las arrojes a la basura y aprovéchalas para cuidar tus dientes! Fuente: MejorconSalud.)
